      Essential Packing List

      Clothing and Footwear
      Wear comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers with good traction; the terrain consists of abrasive salt and loose sand, making sandals unsuitable.  Dress in layers: lightweight, breathable clothing for the afternoon sun, but bring a warm fleece or jacket and even gloves, as temperatures can plummet by 15–20°C (27–36°F) immediately after sunset.  A wide-brimmed hat is essential for sun protection.

      Sun Protection and Hydration
      The high altitude increases UV radiation by approximately 40% compared to sea level. You must bring high-SPF sunscreen (50+), sunglasses, and apply sunscreen frequently.  Carry water per person, as there are no water sources inside the park and the dry air causes rapid dehydration.

      Equipment and Accessories
      Bring cash (Chilean Pesos) to pay the entrance fee, as cards are often not accepted at the gate and ATMs in San Pedro can run out of money.
